The San Diego County Fair is a yearly highlight for locals and visitors alike, filled with attractions, food, and fun for all ages. This year, SAVAGE BEE-CHES is proud to be a vendor, bringing our exclusive, San Diego-based honey products to this iconic event. Whether you’re a local honey lover or a curious fairgoer, we invite you to step into our booth at the brand-new San Diego Marketplace in the Wyland Center.
We know the fair is packed with fantastic food, entertainment, and shopping, but we believe that our booth offers something truly unique. As the only local honey vendor at the fair, we’re excited to show you the essence of our small business, where sustainability, creativity, and community thrive.
A New Home in the San Diego Marketplace
When fair management first reached out to us, we were beyond thrilled. However, we quickly learned we would be part of a brand-new setup—the San Diego Marketplace—and we couldn’t wait to join in. The marketplace, nestled near the farm animal exhibition building, blends the vibe of a mall with local vendors, food, and even a tattoo parlor (courtesy of Bay Ink Tattoo, one of the largest tattoo companies in San Diego). It’s a lively, fun, and eclectic mix, and we’re excited to be right in the heart of it all.
The San Diego Marketplace is a 31,000-square-foot space designed to feel like a modern shopping experience. We’re proud to be a part of this concept, where we can showcase our unique offerings in an environment that complements our brand.
The Thought Behind Our Booth
Our booth setup reflects everything we stand for—innovative, community-focused, and steeped in the natural beauty of our beekeeping process. We were given two white walls to work with, but that wasn’t going to work for us. Our team put a lot of thought into making sure our space stood out. Mike, our design genius, took the lead on the setup, while Kemi (that’s me!) helped choose the colors and design elements that would bring our vision to life.
We opted for a striking black background to highlight our products, and we even stenciled our brand on the walls to create a dynamic visual. A central feature of our booth is the portrait of Kemi by the incredibly talented LA artist, Karla Diaz. The piece, titled The Beekeeper, shows Kemi with a single bee whispering in her ear, capturing both the humor and the bold spirit of our brand. The artwork’s vibrant colors and whimsical feel are a perfect fit for our fun, quirky setup.
A Product Line Like No Other
At SAVAGE BEE-CHES, we offer more than just honey. Our booth at the fair is bursting with over 25 different varieties of honey, each with its own distinct flavor profile, harvested from local and regional sources. From our San Diego Chaparral honey to our Hawaii Coffee Honey, there’s something for every taste.
But that’s just the beginning. We’re launching two exciting new products at the fair that you won’t want to miss! Our Rainforest Honey Soda, developed in collaboration with Raging Cider & Mead Co, is already making waves. With its light, refreshing taste, it’s becoming a favorite among fairgoers. Plus, our Beeswax Cleansing Bar, created with Old Town Soap Company, has garnered rave reviews for its quality ingredients and natural benefits for your skin.
In addition to our honey and new products, we have a range of beautifully hand-poured beeswax candles, the ever-popular SAVAGE BEE-CHES Skincare line, and even our newest venture—the O'Shun's Orchard Pet Care Line. Our Pet Balm, made with simple, soothing ingredients, is designed to bring relief to your furry friends, and fair visitors love it!
For those looking for a more affordable option, our honey sticks and honey lollipops are perfect for snacking without breaking the bank. These bite-sized treats are a great way to sample the pure sweetness of our honey, especially in today’s world of rising prices.
A Booth That Tells Our Story
SAVAGE BEE-CHES is all about the details. We carefully crafted our booth to reflect the passion we have for our products. The booth features a fun climbing bear statue, lending a whimsical touch. We’ve also added mounted candle holders to enhance the elegant feel of our setup, while lighting highlights the beautiful colors of our honey jars, making them pop in the bright fair environment.
In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, we’ve displayed a native bee hotel as an educational tool to promote the importance of supporting pollinator populations. It’s a perfect way to raise awareness while inviting fairgoers to learn more about bees, sustainability, and the environment.
